Creating a positive pet care experience
After many, many years of pet sitting, we are fully aware that love is not all you need when looking after someone else's pets (although we do have pup love in spades!). Your furry family members might be sad or confused with the sudden change, and we take it upon us to reassure them that all is good and their needs will be met, and try to expose them to fun new experiences.
To get to know your and your pup, we always schedule a Meet & Greet in a public setting before a first-time booking. This is the perfect opportunity to meet in person, ask any questions you might have and see if we're a good fit for your needs. It also allows us to interact with your dog and let them get to know us! That way, we're not complete strangers by the time drop-off happens.
We also send all new clients an onboarding questionnaire to make the pet's adjustment easier. This helps us understand your pet’s feeding and walking routine, likes and dislikes, health, personality, habits, and other key details. With this information, we can ensure your pet settles in quickly and enjoys their time with us to the fullest!
Tips for preparing for a successful doggy sit
Make a list and pack all objects that will make your pet's time with us more pleasurable! Here are some suggestions to get you started. Feel free to customize based on your pet’s unique needs:
• Comfort items: Bed, crate, toys, blanket, etc.
• Feeding essentials: pack enough food for the entire stay (with a little extra), along with snacks, and their food and water bowls. If on a special diet (raw or cooked), it's usually recommended to pre-freeze their meals into daily portions for us to manage.
• Outdoor gear: collar, harness, leash, any necessary rain, winter or seasonal gear, and plenty of poop bags.
• Health and care items: medications, supplements, toothbrush kit, brush, wet wipes, towel, etc.
• Your pup! Please make sure that your pup is ready and handsome for their staycation. This means that they're reasonably clean, defleaed, nails short and up-to-date with their vaccine calendar.
